In September 2023, Swiss high-end watchmaking brand Audemars Piguet led the trend and grandly launched two new 43mm Royal Oak Offshore self-winding chronographs. Together with the new products unveiled at the beginning of the year, these two watches jointly pay tribute to the 30th anniversary celebration of the Royal Oak Offshore series.
These two new works ingeniously combine ceramics, titanium, rose gold and other materials, showing two completely different aesthetic styles. The watch adopts an optimized ergonomic design and is paired with an exquisite textured pattern calfskin strap to provide the wearer with excellent comfort and style. At the same time, these two watches are equipped with the newly developed Caliber 4401 self-winding chronograph movement by Audemars Piguet, which provides reliable power for accurate time measurement.
The launch of this series marks Audemars Piguet’s continued innovation in the field of watch manufacturing, and pays deep respect to the Royal Oak Offshore series with its unique and exquisite craftsmanship. These two new 43mm chronographs will undoubtedly become the focus of watch collectors and fashion enthusiasts, highlighting Audemars Piguet’s outstanding position in the field of fine watchmaking.
The visual charm of dark blue and light gray
Of the two new knock-off watches, the first is based on a black ceramic case with a bezel, buttons and crown made of blue ceramic, creating a strong color contrast. The ceramic parts are exquisitely hand-finished, showing Audemars Piguet’s signature delicate craftsmanship, and complement the titanium push-button bridges and strap fixing links. The dial of the watch adopts a unique smoky blue “Méga Tapisserie” oversized plaid design, with a natural transition from light to dark, gradually deepening from the center to eye-catching black around the edges. There are three black chronograph sub-dials on the dial, which are horizontally and symmetrically distributed at 9 o’clock, 6 o’clock and 3 o’clock. They are matched with platinum fluorescent stick hour markers and hands to make the time reading clear and easy to understand. With its unique design and exquisite craftsmanship, this imitation watch shows the wonderful color charm of dark blue and light gray.
The second watch uses an 18K rose gold case, with a titanium bezel, strap fixed links and button guard bridge, showing a dazzling beauty. The crown and pushers are made of black ceramic and complement the black chronograph counters on the gray “Méga Tapisserie” oversized dial. Rose gold fluorescent stick hour markers and hands inject a bright color into the dial, making the overall design more refined and unique.
Calfskin replaceable strap with modern aesthetics
These two new 43mm Royal Oak Offshore self-winding chronographs both adopt the independent replacement strap design launched by Audemars Piguet in 2021. The watch is equipped with a delicate textured calfskin strap, which adds an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere to the wrist. The strap matches the color of the dial, adopting a new design launched in the series earlier this year, and the edges are embellished with black stitching. In addition, each watch is equipped with an additional black rubber strap, showing a more sporty and fashionable style.
Integrated chronograph movement
The two new Royal Oak Offshore watches are equipped with Audemars Piguet’s latest integrated self-winding chronograph movement Caliber 4401, equipped with a column wheel device and a flyback chronograph function.
Different from the general timing function, the flyback function only needs to press the button to achieve instant zero reset and restart of the timing pointer. The column wheel is equipped with a vertical clutch mechanism, which allows the chronograph second hand to execute instructions immediately and smoothly when starting or stopping the chronograph function. In addition, the specially designed timing button ensures a smoother operating feel. When the chronograph function is reset to zero, the patented zero-return mechanism ensures that the hands of each chronograph sub-dial instantly return to zero at the same time.
The movement is carefully decorated with fine finishing details such as Côtes de Genève, pearl dots, radial patterns, circular satin finishing and polished chamfering. Through the sapphire crystal case back, these exquisite craftsmanship are visible at a glance, presenting a stunning internal aesthetic.
